Becoming a member of the Patient Advisory Group

The PBRU has recently formed its Patient Advisory Panel, part of the Patient and Public Involvement/Education (PPIE) initiative.
The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) states that "PPIE is an important part of the research that we fund as well as being part of our research commissioning and management processes. We expect researchers to actively involve the public in their research. We also involve members of the public in reviewing funding applications and as members of decision-making committees and panels, making recommendations about research funding".
The PBRU's aim is to encourage our researchers and healthcare professionals to work with patients and the public to carry out and improve health research within our group.    PPIE will be delievered by our Patient Advisory Group here in Liverpool, but not just by patients and the public from the local area, but by those with an interest or link with pancreas diseases across the UK.
To become a member, please read our PPIE job description and terms of reference, and if you are interested, please complete the application form.  For any enquires please e-mail: or phone Becky Taylor on 0151 706 4877.
