Clinical Trials

Clinical Trials in the PBRU are underpinned by the busy Professorial Hepatopancreatobiliary Unit based at the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen  University Hospitals NHS Trust. This is the largest National centre for pancreatic diseases in the UK, seeing around 1300 patients per year.

The PBRU conducts trials at all clinical phases for academia, in addition to large pharma companies and smaller biotech companies. A range of interventional studies can be investigated, which include therapeutic vaccines, small molecules, monoclonal antibodies, gene therapies and surgical device interventions

Clinical trials in the PBRU are facilitated by the PBRU Pancreas Clinical Research Facility (PCRF), GCLP Laboratories, PET/CT imaging and a specialised microscopy facility for use in translational and clinical studies.Patricia_Baker Pills
